SKIING: In Winter, we have a splendid set of ski trails called the Mukwonago Ski Trails of various difficulty levels, just a 2 miles down the road, and managed by the U.S. Forest Service. The Birkie trail, always groomed and even lit for night skiing at hwy OO, is only 15 miles away. Bring your own ski equipment or rent from New Moon Ski Shop or Outdoor Ventures in Hayward, only 20 minutes away.
Winter Fun

SNOWSHOEING: We also have several pairs of snowshoes for rent here. Let us know if this will be of interest to you.  The lake, frozen solid of course, is a fabulous experience for skiing or snowshoeing. For more info on local trails, we suggest American Birkebeiner Fundation and NorWiski.com web page for trail information.

FIDO can play in the snow too: We welcome dogs (and all pets) to the lodge. Winter is a great time to let them explore, off leash, across the lake, through the snow banks, then watch them curl up exhausted by the fire. If you skijor (the is the skiing with your dog, like a dog sled) or just like to ski with Fido running along with… the Seeley Trail just 15 minutes away is dog friendly. Click for a map.

Sorry, we do not allow snowmobiles on the property
15 Hole in Spring

because of the danger to the golf course, and our belief in the Quiet of the season and the tradition of the 10 mph on the water in summer.  Snowmobiles must be trailer-ed in and out and taken to a trail access – about three miles. For more information please contact Hayward Power Sports.

HUNTERS WELCOME: With the National forest as our closest neighbor and pet friendly, we are a great location to set up base camp. The resort has a long history of housing grouse, wood cock, duck, and other bird hunters. During deer season we would be happy to house just the hunters, or bring the family for thanksgiving. We do ask you do not hunt on property.
