We have an enclosed shallow swimming area that is protected by the main dock and has a gentle slope into the water. Bigger kids (and adults) love to swim away from the Main Dock out to the diving raft - its big enough for lots of kids, and nobody can hear what you are talking about! The shoreline is solid, with only a few weed beds here and there, but there are some scattered rocks. A true North Country beach, not Caribbean sand. One is also able to swim off your dock near the cabin.
There is an open Beach Area but the sand is a bit pebbly. We hauled in sand for seventy years, but they won't let us do that any more. It is still nice and deep for sand castle building and close to the shallows for needed construction water.
The Main Dock has benches to sit on or for sunbathing, and a hammock in the shade of the trees to sleep in. There is even a log for logrolling; Victoria sometimes escapes management duties during the summer to give lessons, when there is interest.
Swim towels are provided in the Main Lodge office. We ask that the white bath towels stay in the cabin, since there are plenty of swim towels for everyone. Simply poke your head into the office door, grab a towel and drop it back off when wet. Office is conveniently located between the lake and the pool!
